Scheduling a Polygraph

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the polygraph examination be conducted?

Polygraph examinations should be conducted in a suitable room that is free from noises or other stimuli that would be distracting to the person receiving an examination, such as telephones or nearby conversations. Privacy is also a significant factor that must be taken into consideration during any interview, and especially during a polygraph examination. Very few people, regardless of whether they intend to be truthful or not, would desire to discuss the issue of which a polygraph exam is being conducted if their conversation could be potentially overheard by family members, coworkers, or employers. The presence of others or fearing that others may overhear the process may add unnecessary stress to the examinee. Only the examinee and examiner will be in the examination room at all stages of the examination.

Integrity Resources LLC has an office located at 525 SW Topeka Blvd. in Topeka, Kansas, and examinations are conducted at this location. The office is located in a law firm, and the environment is quiet and free of distractions that would be bothersome to the person taking a polygraph examination. Integrity Resources also has a Safari motor home used as a mobile office in which polygraph examinations can be conducted at your location.

Polygraph examination at your location within a mobile office

Integrity Resources LLC has a Safari motor home that is fully equipped as a mobile office to conduct polygraph examinations in. An examiner will come to your city with the mobile office and conduct a polygraph examination if your location is within 100 miles from Topeka. An examiner will conduct examinations farther than the 100 mile limit if the polygraph examination is in Kansas and requested a week in advance.

The examination can be conducted at your location within the mobile office, such as the parking lot of your business, or at an agreed upon location within or near your city if there is not sufficient parking near your business or desired location.

The benefit to the use of the Safari mobile office, is that it reduces the inconvenience of travel for those who will be taking a polygraph examination. There is time saved with the mobile office because the mobile office comes ready to begin the polygraph examinations, compared to unpacking and setting up equipment at a rented room or room within your business.
The privacy of the mobile office creates an environment with reduced potential distractions that might be experienced in an office or residential setting. The mobile office is also less disruptive perhaps than having an examiner come to your residence or business, depending of course on the size of your business space or residential layout. The mobile office is a convenience to those receiving or requesting the polygraph examination because there is no longer a need to find a private room necessary to conduct a polygraph examination. The Polygraph examination may be recorded with audio or video equipment, depending on the circumstances.

Conducting the polygraph examination at your location using your facilities

If a polygraph examination is requested outside of Topeka, and if the use of the mobile office is not requested, it will be the responsibility of the person requesting the polygraph examination or person taking the polygraph examination to reserve a location for the examination. This location must be free of distractions and potential interruptions. There should be a minimum of two chairs, with one chair preferably having arm rests. There must also be a table in the room near the chairs. There should also be a three-prong electrical outlet, the temperature of the room should be between 70 and 75 degrees, and the room should be well lit. If there are windows in the room selected for the polygraph examination, there must be blinds of some sort to increase privacy and reduce potential distractions. There must be restroom facilities nearby.

How much will the polygraph examination cost?

The costs of polygraph examinations will vary depending upon the complexity of the issue to be resolved and on the type of examination being conducted, as well as on the cooperation of the one receiving the examination. If the examinee is found to be attempting countermeasures, the examination will be concluded and no refund of the cost of the examination or travel will be given. There are many suggested countermeasure attempts available on the internet today, and most if not all of them are readily identifiable.

The costs of a polygraph examination will also vary depending on whether the examination is conducted at our office in Topeka or at your location, if there is a need for an interpreter, and whether or not you utilize Integrity Resources’ mobile office motor home, or agree to provide another suitable environment for the polygraph examination. Integrity Resources LLC will reduce the fees if more than one examination is being conducted at the same location and time. Pre employment polygraph examinations will also be provided at a reduced rate for law enforcement agencies and for other government or private security positions under the restrictions and limitations of the Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988.
